I repair Fiberglass and Gel-coat on boats
That's all I do.
I enjoy every day restoring and repairing boats.
Stepping back when I'm done and looking at one sweet boat again.
I took a lifelong hobby of restoring cars, boats and motorcycles
to showroom quality and it turned in to a business I love.
After Sandy rolled through a lot of my friends boats were damaged.
The big problem you couldn't find anyone to do the repairs
and I had no desire to work on other peoples boats.
Mike a buddy convinced me to fix his boat and it snowballed from there.
You know... You fixed mike's boat your not going to fix mine

I'm a life long boater 40+ years
I have a 1975 PACEMAKER 40MY for the past 17 years.
That's it above and it felt like I worked on it the whole time.
So I know how it feels when they get damage
Your thinking that your boats never is going to look right
Well relax because I can fix it like it NEVER happened
YOUR BOAT CAME WITH A GEL-COAT FINISH FOR A REASON.
IT LASTS LONGER ,IT'S HARDER AND
MORE WATER RESISTANT THEN PAINTED REPAIRS PERIOD !!!
IT'S JUST MORE WORK.
When all else fails keep saying to yourself over and over... boating's fun boating's fun boating's fun. It helps me =)
Never let someone put your jet ski on the trailer for you
The only way to fix this is to cut out all the shattered fiberglass
new piece made and ready to be installed
The new piece was installed to match Factory strength
There were lots of Contours and curves in the peace that was replaced
Sea-Doo gave me the paint code for this color. It was about a half of shade off but because of the funky color I was unable to adjust it but overall it looks good
38 blackfin
twin 600 cats
I painted hull fighting lady yellow. The mid-ship off white. Awlgrip paint.
It came out sweet... but never again!
Boat restoration
The cracks are from running aground. You can see it the FINISHED picture the plywood is cut open for repair. Read how if was repaired down below in STRUT PLATE DAMAGED. By another yard you will get a laugh
The mechanic drilled the holes and reinstalled strut. The boat is good as new. It was very important the plate on bottom didn't move when replacing the fiberglass
This happened went backing into a slip. NOTE: docking slow = less damage if you hit something. Handle was bent, rub rail damaged,
fiberglass on hull and deck damaged.
New rub rail and stainless steel insert new handle. GEL COAT on swim platform. Perfect color match on GEL COAT.
GEL COAT was custom, color was blended on site for a perfect factory finish.
VW I restored 18 years ago and drove it from Denver to NY in Dec 2001 and we're both still here. Nothing to do with boats, just a cool old WESTY. That was one cold ride 1800 miles!!
The damaged happened when the owner was backing into a slip and the wind kick up. When it happened he said he had no choice
but to keep going lesser of two evils
The color match was perfect when complete. GEL COAT was custom, color was blended on site for a perfect factory finish.
2006 MERIDIAN
This hull was neglected for years the owner was in for other repairs on a recommendation to me. I wouldn't do the other repairs. with out doing restoration on the hull GEL COAT
Repaired the GEL COAT and Wet sanded entire hull to 1200 grit and polished .
The owner could not believe the shine.
2006 regal with NO wax. He says it looks better then the day he bought it.
Also everything you see reflecting in the boat was there before you just couldn't see it
Repair from boat yard. They were on a trip in the Long Island sound and ran aground. The boat was leaking when they returned to there home port 5 day later. So I soda blasted off bottom paint they had applied and SURPRISE it was repaired with 2 part epoxy from the hardware store.
Which was leaking when they returned to there home port 5 day later. Boat restoration
All the epoxy was ground out along with the shattered fiberglass. New fiberglass was applied and a factory GEL COAT finished. It was then primed and bottom painted. No more leaks. Look above for INSIDE STRUT REPAIR
This is a 2010 Formula.
This is a repair that I bid but didn't do .
This damage is about the size of a softball .
This needed to be ground back to the core and feathered back to the size of a dinner plate. Then new fiberglass cloth can be laid up. Then and only then do you have a repair that is as strong as the factory fiberglass
Here how it should have been repaired. This damaged is on ANOTHER boat. It was ground back 10 times the thickness if hull. then multiple layers of fiberglass cloth applied .Very time consuming when its done right.
They ground the loose fiberglass out and filled it with bondo. This will crack if the boat flexes any where near this butchered "repair ". Considering this damage was done by a dock. and this is dock height even if you have fenders it will still flex and crack
This was a boat that was blocked on 2 keel blocks. The aft block pushed through the hull. Should have had 4 blocks to hold keel.
There was no grinding this back, Just had to cut out all damaged fiberglass. At the completion of the repair the owner told me he was freaking out when he saw the hole I cut out. He called the mechanic who recommended me. Mechanic told him to leave me alone it will be perfect when I'm done and it was
New piece installed and bottom paint applied. The owner was very happy with the entire repair.
This was a re power for one of the yard I do work for. They installed twin 15hp Mercury outboards. It had a single inboard.
The right side of the dash needed to be widened for the dual controls. Also the had to be re-angled and extended
Never got a completed pic from yard, but they said the owner was very happy with the fiberglass work. The boat owner builds composite airplanes in Conn.
This was a 2017 Yamaha jet ski that went sideways in to a dock
Just like the 56 motor yacht the damaged fiberglass was cut out and replaced
This is the completed repair with stabilizing wing installed
This boat had the windshield removed and isinglass enclosure installed. Close to 40 holes need to be repaired
This was typical of the hole that needed to be repaired
This is the completed project. The over all look of the boat was really cleaned up by doing this.
Small gauge on portside bow
Filled in and sprayed with GEL COAT.
perfect color match
This was a 15 yr old sea ray. The boat was hit by the anchor of another boat. grounded out damaged area.
After grinding out fiberglass. The area was laid up with fiberglass cloth. Color matched custom blend GEL COAT . The owner has a auto body shop. he was impressed on the color match
The arch started peeling in two spots this is one of them. Smoothed it out and filled in the pitting
Came out nice the color was a little off but I told the owner that before I started that might happen. the arch should have came off and been redone
1975 PACEMAKER MY40
Heavy growth on my boat. You know the saying mechanic has the worst running car. Cobbler has holes in his shoes and the gel coat guys boat looks like crap LOL
I blasted the bottom. 1500lb of fine black beauty and two days of wet blasting.
Here she it ready for GEL COAT 16 old though hull fittings were sealed up from the size of your pinky to 2 1/2 inch. 4 were moved to below bottom paint line . I wanted a clean look for the blue hull with no fittings on it.
GEL COAT completed.
on to the bottom
Three coats of sea hawk barrier coat
Three coats of bottom paint. 1 red 2 black
Well ready for launch was on land one month. I work on her 7 days a week sun up till sun down
To get the GEL COAT to shine like this is labor intense. Meaning after I sprayed the GEL COAT it had to be sanded 400 600 800 1000 1200 then buffed out used 800 pcs of 6" sand paper. Not to mention the sanding to prep for the GEL COAT

LIBERTY LANDING MARINA
Great marina
The boat came out great, Got lots of compliments on the boats color and overall total transformation. People I would see running every day through the park were stopping to say how good She looked. Boat restoration, Fiberglass boat repair
The two guy running the lift are the same two guys who lifted my boat in 2002 (6 months on land) when I first bought her. Great lift I have 14 ft beam and there straps don't touch the sides of boat.Very professional marina top notch STAFF
The GEL COAT color was custom blended by me. The boat in sun light is a light blue and more of a Periwinkle blue at dusk . That's why it looks lighter and darker in the pictures
This is how it was sold in 1975
I think mine looks better
This happened in a boat yard when they moved it with there hyd. yard trailer. It happened to both sides of the boat.
I matched the color of the GEL COAT and then thickened the GEL COAT to a paste and filled in the chips on both sides of the boat. After curing the GEL COAT is wet sanded and buffed
